Frances Hammond’s podcast is more informal than any of the others I’ve recorded. She sat in a chair in her home office and we had a conversation just as if we had met at a party and moved into a corner to talk. Then she posted the interview only three hours after we recorded it! Frances is a breast cancer survivor, that’s the inspiration for her podcast, so we mostly talked about the caregiving aspects of Carrying the Tiger, which was a change from the frequent discussions of grief and loss. You can listen on Spotify or Apple, or watch on YouTube.
“Today, I had the honor of interviewing Tony Stewart, author of Carrying The Tiger: A Memoir. Tony’s powerful memoir shares his deeply personal journey as the devoted caregiver to his beloved wife, Lynn, who courageously battled Stage IV metastatic cancer for six years. In our conversation, Tony opens up about the challenges, heartache, and unwavering love that defined their path. His story is a moving testament to what it truly means to walk beside someone every step of the way—through sickness, uncertainty, and the unexpected turns life can take. Join us for this heartfelt episode of The Unexpected Detour ❤️—a story of love, resilience, and the strength found in the detours we never saw coming.”
